Brendon Hill, 25 years young, I skate natural stance and if I had to choose I would say I enjoy street skating the most because it is an ever-changing terrain and every spot has a different challenge to overcome. I have been sponsored by many different companies in the past, but the one which has showed me the most love and given me the support of a family has been Red Herring Surf. With the constant support from Victor and the crew I have been lucky enough to travel to king island twice for skating demos, including being lucky enough to take a joyride in a replica “mustang” warplane with the mayor of King Island himself! I have been fortunate enough to compete in the X Games in Sydney where I placed 6th and have been flown to Melbourne to skate in the Globe World Cup which was an unforgettable experience! Standing shoulder to shoulder with the skaters you grow up idolizing is quite nerve-racking but it has taught me to feed off the pressure you encounter in a competitive environment. Red Herring Surf has also helped me get recognized by sponsors and without their help, I’m sure I wouldn’t be so lucky so for that I am very appreciative.
Recently, I competed in the Devonport Skate Comp Opening Day which in my opinion, is the best park in Tassie so far. I must’ve been shined on by the skate gods bringing home 1st in the open division and winning best trick scoring myself an enjoi setup, some sick tees and goodies for my efforts.
Also about the place you might have seen myself and Blair Howard holding demos at Ravenswood skatepark, Longford Skate Day, Ringarooma Primary School, and Georgetown Youth Expo getting the kids amped for hammers and ultimately..the free give-aways are always sure to send the crowd crazy!
The setup I’m riding at the moment is the Red Herring Cow Board 8.1 inch, Royal (enjoi series) trucks wit Hubba wheels and Modus titanium bearings thanks to Modus for sending me some!
